Yeah, that was messed up, but made me think back to last week when Serena told June, "You were supposed to be one of the strong ones." That took strength and courage and also had the effect of waking Lawrence up to the fact that this is the reality he has imposed on countless people. Thus far, he's been able to insulate himself and comfort himself with gestures like "saving" 5 women from the Colonies by making them Marthas (also a form of slavery, as far as I can tell).

I think Fred is trying to push Lawrence out - partly b/c June's there but also b/c until recently he's been shown a great deal of deference and has had a lot of power.[/quote]
