[/quote] It's difficult to have a frank discussion if you are going to call them plantation death camps. Slaves were extremely valuable and expensive commodity. A typical slave cost more money than most American made in years. The slaveholders had a vested interest in their well being to an extent. Your typical slave had a diet and health care standard not atypical of free working laborers, black and white, of the time. The purpose of the plantation was not to work people to death or to exterminate them as the holocaust death camps were. [/quote] +1.
