and that would be many R farmers.  I'll ask again.. if ICE really wanted to go after ALL illegal immigrants, why not raid the farms. About half of those workers are illegal immigrants.  It would be like shooting fish in a barrel.  What's the point of raiding 7/11s and greyhound buses when you will get a handful of illegal immigrants, when you could get hundreds just by going out to the farms?[/quote]

You are making assumptions. You have no idea what percentage of workers on farms are illegal or if there are any at all.

As for ICE going after "ALL illegal immigrants", they don't have the manpower or resources for that. Assuming you guessed correctly at the number of illegals working on farms,[b] that should indeed be the LAST place ICE should go after them. Ah.. so you admit that illegal immigrants are necessary to our country?  So some illegal immigrants are ok as long as they stay on the farms, right?

Yes, the report is from 2014, but I don't know of a more recent comprehensive unbiased report, plus, all you have to do is read some of the articles that interviews farmers across the country. They are nervous.[/quote]

I admit that everyone living in America that is contributing to society and the economy is necessary and good for our country. All I was saying is that given the resources ICE has, they can't get EVERYONE, so they might as well look for ones that are contributing less. I'm ok with a fair and reasonable amnesty solution.

As for the illegals that work on farms, they can be replaced eventually by Americans. I don't agree with the unverifiable talking point that illegals are doing the jobs that American citizens don't want. What I believe is that America people don't want to do a job for the low wages that the illegals are being paid. It isn't the job itself they are opposed to...illegals are willing to accept a lower wage (under the table of course).[/quote]
Well, if you talk to the farmers they will tell you that Americans don't want the job, and if they pay a lot more where some will take the job, the farmers would go out of business. That's not me saying this.  It's the farmers, many of them who are Rs.  So, seems to me, there are those in the R party who benefit from illegal immigrants and support it, per the OP's thread title.
