Left leaning moderate here. I don't support illegals and no one I know supports illegals. The DACA folks are a special case, and I am comfortable giving them legal, but not citizen status. They can get in line if they want to become fully legal American citizens.

Former Democrat, now Independent here and I agree with the 800,000 DACA getting legal status but not citizen status. They need to apply like everyone else. I don't think all 1.8 million "dreamers'' should be given legal status much less citizen status. There should also be a stipulation that there will no longer be special treatment given to these children that are brought here as young kids. It's not their fault and it's a precarious situation but the parents and kids need to know that entering a country illegally does have ramifications. That's what the laws are there for to begin with. I also think the US gov't should give consideration to those coming here from countries like El Salvador because they are fleeing the violence there. These cases should be considered as refugees and the appropriate steps should be taken to determine their refugee application.
