This is because...drum roll...DCU IS NOT A GOOD ACADEMY. They don't really care about the kids or their development. They only care about just keeping the academy afloat for as little money as possible. It's that simple. When you accept this as the baseline premise for the academy then all of its decisions and problems make perfect sense. When you start thinking that they are a good academy that does something special is when you start to get disappointed and see massive holes in their methodology and approach to the players and you begin to realize that their contribution to youth soccer in our area is in fact minimal.
