Thanks for the explanation. I guess I understand that, except that so many people I know on the pro-Palestine/super-Progressive side (including my brother in law, so not, like, distant acquaintances) don't actually consider themselves Democrats. They consider themselves Progressives or Socialists (BIL is a card-carrying member of the DSA). The whole point of throwing in with the Democrats (running as Dems, etc) was to gain power in a two-party system, which, as a moderate, I don't like, because get out of my party, but I understand from a tactical perspective. But then if the point was to gain political power and have a chance of winning in a two-party system, why alienate so many moderates who you need to vote for Harris to win in the first place? Like, I get advocating for your stances with the party you think will actually somewhat listen to you. But then I start thinking about their plan in any kind of detail, and the whole thing just falls apart.[/quote]
