Dulles has 4 parallel runways and no restricted airspace nearby. National has basically only 1.5 runways and there’s one narrow path in/out. How do you compare the two? It’s much more difficult to control for air traffic at DCA.

This is not correct. IAD was designed to accommodate 70 million annual passengers. DCA was designed to handle 15 million. Last year, both airports had around 25 million passengers. DCA actually handled MORE flights than IAD last year I believe (because the planes tend to be smaller for DCA).[/quote]
