But hey, you got yours, right?
DP. I’m in favor of them expanding where the actual needs are (eg, McLean), not them expanding based on faulty projections or for equity needs (not saying that’s centreville or not, I honestly don’t know). I think what you’re trying to do is pretty slimy. If you aren’t for your kids to be moved, you shouldn’t be salivating to have others kids moved. There are several hypocrites in this board that are fine sticking it to their neighbors by advocating for changes in other schools. But they’ll join the opponents in pushing back against changes for their own dear Susie. That’s why I think it is perfectly reasonable to demand that the school board members’ kids get moved as part of this process. Every time.
There it is, folks. I am not advocating for boundary adjustments. I am pushing back on folks on this board punching down on overcrowded areas in Western Fairfax because they believe it supports their argument against boundary changes to a very specific area. That is slimy. That is selfish. There is no western high school. The Centreville expansion is necessary. We all see what you are doing. Stop sacrificing the rest of the county on the alter of your weak arguments.
I don’t see anyone saying Centreville shouldn’t be renovated or even expanded to 2500, which is more than they expanded both Marshall and Langley to during their renovations. It’s the expansion to 3000 that seems unjustified and will chew up money that could be put to good use elsewhere.
