yes, it does fracture the RHPS community, at least for the first 6th and 7th graders. Remember, a good chunk of BE kids went to RHPS too. Those kids already had it harder than the CCES or NCCES kids, because they went K-2 at Rosemary Hills, then had to integrate into a new school as a small group, since BE had many kids there who started in Kindergarten. The other two schools only start in 3rd and are populated mostly by RHPS kids. I think BE should be assigned to the same middle school as either NCCES or CCES for that reason.
Did you see the part about PL development in Chevy Chase and Silver Spring communities along the line. The new middle is smaller than Westland and it needs the extra space so there aren't portables outside the school in five years. There is not enough room for BE at the new middle. The BE kids have had it harder than RHPS kids?. That's so not true. The East Bethesda community lobbied HARD to get out of Rosemary Hills. They wanted out badly!. I know one of the Moms who lead the charge for it to happen. Now BE wants to play victim so they can go to the new middle with the community THEY rejected. Give me a break!. Option 1 makes the most sense.
