Putting the trolls aside, I watched the second hearing today. I just wanted to say how in awe I am of the parents that spoke. All of them were so amazing. I sobbed through most of it - I hope they can all find some kind of peace someday.
It’s not “trolling” to say that people shouldn’t trash the grieving families.
The grieving families no longer have daughters to send back to the camp. Try to keep up.
Most of families were traumatized and lost dear friends. Try to keep up.
How dare you imply that is the equivalent of losing your own daughter.
What's gross is someone here using this tragedy to further their own weird personal agenda.
You clearly have an “agenda” that people should still be allowed to entrust the Eastlands with the care of more children. That is very misguided and hopefully the state of Texas takes the decision out of their hands. I would not trust the Eastlands to care for my goldfish.
Yep, you are using this for some sick reason. It’s gross.
I am none of the PPs in this thread but you are also using this story for some sick reason. Sure, you're going to say that it will cause camps across the country to be safer, and yeah, of course that's a good thing. But why are you so vocally and vehemently judging families whose children lost their friends? Why can't you see that you can have a conversation about why the camp should never have been allowed to be open and should never be opened again without passing judgment on people you don't know? That's the behavior that's gross, by the way. It's like you people use a tragedy to condemn others (and by others I don't mean the Eastlands) to make yourselves feel better because YOU would never put your children in a dangerous situation. It's shocking to me that you wouldn't lead with compassion and empathy for people whose children suffered. You pretend to do so for the families whose children died who don't want the camp to reopen. I'm not saying the camp should reopen. I'm saying you can have a conversation about all the things related to the camp and how badly it was run and how much the state of Texas failed its citizens without criticizing the parents whose children survived. THAT is what is gross.
No. People should be looking out for the children first and those parents are not. Too bad you don't care about the children involved.
How are you showing compassion for the children involved using your abusive language? You have a chip on your shoulder about these families, Texans, and the people behind this camp. You can't be taken seriously.
It's such a great idea to send children to a camp whose incompetent directors and owners still haven't followed the law and reported 27 deaths on their watch or submitted the required safety plan after ten months.
