That was the really toxic boundary fraud time, when anyone higher up in DC government (or even just a connected functionary) could get permission to register their kids at an out of bounds school under the radar. I even met a woman who worked for OSSE who more or less told me the principal of a highly sought after school let her kid in special for her. The MySchool lottery put a stop to a lot of those shenanigans indirectly by making it clear that everyone else was playing on a level playing field for a few highly sought after spots. [/quote]
