I know a lot of Muslims who abhor Saudi Arabia. Wahhabism is a lot like zionism, and both countries are vehemently anti-democratic. Religious nationalism in any form is an appalling cancer.

yes- why do you think SO MANY observant muslims flee their home countries?? my parents were very successful in our home country and they left when it became an "Islamic republic" and they weren't miniskirted Iranians.  my mom wears a hijab and it was hard to be an immigrant.   we would have had a wealthier lifestyle back home but  my parents wanted to feel free to make their own choices and they wanted that freedom for us.  All my life I heard that ataturk  was amazing b/c he drowned a boatful of wahhabbi clerics and forced secularism on Türkiye which is unfortunately under attack.  
you may have a lot of misconceptions about how conservative they are or that they come for money and many of them are too conservative to even admit to themselves that they came to be free. Even if I wear a hijab- it's only my choice if im free to take it off, I desire to have that choice and that freedom. people make enormous financial sacrifices for this choice and this freedom.  All those Muslim drs and engineers - they aren't here for money- people who stayed behind live lives in immense luxury but they live without choice and they live in compounds, they aren't free.
