Well, it does seem to be something Khalil is quite in support of himself. But I agree that the US should have higher standards than Hamas, even if Khalil himself is a strong supporter of kidnapping innocents, including babies.

The only people who consider this kidnapping are the extremely online left. They are unhinged from reality as usual. Like other 90/10 issues where the extreme finds itself on the side of the 10%, ridiculous hysterics do not help the cause.

Focus on how there is lack of due process. Focus on our commitment to the first amendment. Focus on our support of legal immigration, which Khalil did. All that might move this into an issue with general support from moderates and conservatives. But all this whining about “kidnapping” of someone who celebrated 10/7, an event where babies were actually kidnapped (assuming you aren’t a Hamas denialist), just alienates people who could be persuaded of this wrongness of this.
