I’m disappointed. It seems like Trump is already walking back all of his promises. He’s not actually going to deport illegals. He’s not going to lower grocery prices. He isn’t even going to pardon all the J6 patriots.
You are surprised a known serial liar lied? You're surprised a nepo baby billionaire who has never cared about anyone but himself doesn't care about his constituents or campaign promises? "Don't call us morons, that's why we voted for Trump!" Scream morons who can't stop doing moronic things.
So here is how this shakes out: MAGA voters A) will never hear about the facts of Trump’s second term from their hermetically sealed Conservative echo chamber. Fox News never covers it and in fact, Fox News will never mention immigration at all, and all of the Maga voters will believe it’s been solved. B) the republicans will continue to malign the very institutions they now control as wasteful, dysfunctional, and corrupt. They will continue to be nihilistic turds for ( in most cases ) political gain and in other cases for ideological zealotry. And MAGA voters will continue to slide further down the toilet away from a belief in democracy. There is no expertise or competence. We as a country can’t conceive of doing big things. American exceptionalism is dead. And they will keep voting officials that tell them that. And then proving it. Rinse repeat. C) we become a fully pay to play kleptocracy. And the masses buy Trump perfume and never notice the they got nothing. Happy Holidays!
I think one of the reasons that the left is so out of touch is that they use a framework of the right that existed 10 years ago. Their insistence that Fox News is the main source of information is a great example of this. Republicans left cable News behind a long time ago. So much, that if you answer that you get your News from cable, pollsters immediately identify you as being on the left. The person here saying they are upset that Trump won't deport people, etc isn't on the right. I'm on the right, and I had never even HEARD the claim that Trump would free J6 prisoners until AFTER the election, when a Democratic relative brought it up. It wasn't a campaign promise. It was words that were, per usual, taken out of context and bandied about in the leftosphere to scare people. That person is most definitely a troll because no one on the right is really tracking this. And it would be a controversial point, because they shouldn't be given carte blanch pardons. Similar for the border. The left breathlessly told everyone that Trump would not only deport illegals, but also all black people. I mean, what the...? That's just crazy. He only promised to aggressively attempt to remove illegals, starting with the most dangerous ones (violent criminals). The economy? Yeah, that remains to be seen.
What are your expectations with regard to illegals? Here on DCUM we heard Trump supporters insist, illegal is illegal, anyone who crossed the border illegally is a criminal, and that all of them have to go. All of them. We also heard Trump supporters insist that Haitians approved for asylum under previous administrations have to go, and particularly so because they are stealing cats and dogs and eating them. And that means revoking their status of being in the US LEGALLY under asylum provisions. We also heard you not having any problems with Vance's statements about denaturalizing citizens, immigrants who have been granted US citizenship. Do you expect ALL of them to be deported, to include approved asylees and naturalized citizens? Or just the illegal border crossers? Do you expect the number of illegals in the US to go to zero? Don't dance around the question, give us an actual answer.
I'll be impressed if they can deport a million per year, so I'd say my expectations would be for them to deport at least 3M high risk (known violent illegals) for the 4 years he is in office. I'm hoping for more, naturally. We will need several Republican administrations back to back to remove all of the violent gang members etc that came into the US during the Biden administration.
I’ll be shocked if he deports a million people at all. He isn’t even talking about that, and when he does he’s waffling. He is talking about suing the Des Moines register over an outlier poll. So… yeah.
He's not waffling. He put Tom Homan and Steve Miller in charge. Does that seem like he's pussy footing around? He will get cooperation from certain municipalities like NYC and Texas border towns, and between those areas, he should be able to get millions. Part of their strategy is also to create conditions that prompts people to self-deport. In other words, to make the deportation process onerous enough that people elect to leave on their own terms rather than in Steve Miller's cages. So the deportation numbers will be supplemented with voluntary departures.
He’s absolutely waffling!!! He was recently interviewed and completely backed off on everything he said during the campaign. Now it’s a really “tough thing to do” to deport people. Well no sh—-.
Securing the border and completely stopping the inflow should be the first priority. Deporting should not be our focus right now. I have zero confidence in Trump and Biden getting this done. They are completely inept.
The inflow has slowed way down to 2019 levels. We were promised deportations of illegal migrants. 20,000,000 million invaded and now they are hedging on doing anything about it.
Slowed down and completely stopped are two different things. Every person crossing the American border should have pre-established legal residency or some other form of pre-approved permission to enter the country before they attempt to cross the border or else they must be turned around until our asylum protocols are reformed. A focus on deportation before the bleeding has completely stopped is the dumbest thing I've heard in three weeks.
Right so you are saying the super tough guys he is putting in charge can’t do both. EVEN THOUGH HE ABSOLUTELY PROMISED TO DO BOTH. 20 million illegals have invaded, but now it’s too hard to do anything about it. Three months ago, it was a done deal, but now … not gonna happen. It’s literally the only thing I supported Trump for. This was THE issue. And he’s surrendering before he even takes the oath. It’s pathetic.
Most of us normal people aren't hyper-focused on seeing our new friends and neighbors rounded up and deported. Sure, if they've committed crimes, kick them out because if you're dumb and reckless enough to commit a crime in a country you wish to remain in but have no legal residency, we don't want you here. Otherwise, we just want the inflow completely stopped like it should have been decades ago.
GMAFB! We were shown all of this crazy footage of the invaders. Military aged men were coming in droves. It’s an actual invading force and Biden didn’t have a clue who they were and why they were here. And now it’s just … *shrug* I guess they are here so whatever. Are they cartel members? Are they Islamic terrorists? Chinese spies? Trump doesn’t know and is too preoccupied to care. He’s tweeting about LIZ CHENEY?!?! She’s not even in office. Why are we talking her? MAGA better mobilize and hold him to his promises.
Do you remember how Fox "News" paid $767M in damages for lying to its viewers? Ya, what you are describing is the same thing, but different topic. Find new sources of information, ones that are not paying hundreds of millions in damages.
