The spring 2022 math email- at that time would the majority of kids taking math 4 been juniors? Or was math 4 (at that time/pre-admission change) mostly taken by sophomores at that time?
Math 4 at that time would have been primarily taken by sophomores from the last class to be admitted BEFORE the admissions process changes. It's worth noting that the Class of 2024 is an exceptional class that is enjoying some outstanding college outcomes - but that email refers to their efforts and not the efforts of students who were selected by the new process. Unless they were significantly advanced - in which case, they're probably not the subject of people's anger here.
Email is referring specifically to students selected by new process. Sure not all of them, and certainly not the top half of them. It is the bottom half that the math teachers are referring to that the new essay lottery process allowed without merit evaluation.
Lottery? Why do posters keep referring to a “lottery” (ie - random selection) as part of the TJ selection process? FCPS states: “A holistic review will be done of students whose applications demonstrate enhanced merit; 550 seats will then be offered to the highest-evaluated students. Students will be evaluated on their grade point average (GPA); a student portrait sheet where they will be asked to demonstrate Portrait of a Graduate attributes and 21st century skills; a problem-solving essay; and experience factors, including students who are economically disadvantaged, English language learners, or special education students.” Here is the corroboration: https://www.fcps.edu/registration/thomas-jefferson-high-school-science-and-technology-admissions/tjhsst-freshman Please post proof there is a “lottery,” or stop spreading falsehoods.
This is clear proof that it is a lottery.
You are clearly ignorant of the meaning of the word “lottery.”
