I don't agree with the Nursing home statement, but there is a legitimate concern about elderly people with dementia voting. Some of them don't even know the current year or who is running for president. Family members will take mom to vote even though she has severe dementia believes that we are in the 1970's and that Richard Nixon is president. I don't know what the solution is, but this is becoming a bigger problem as the US population ages.  [/quote]

This is a sporadic issue that only happens in some places.  If you are going to try to block all seniors in nursing homes from voting because some have dementia and their families still get them to vote, then you might as well also block conservative lobbyists in rural areas who are know to harvest votes and stuff ballot boxes because there were at least a dozen cases of this in the 2020 election.

It's ridiculous.  There are many seniors who live inside and outside nursing facilities and who do not have dementia or memory issues who have the legal right to vote and are still of sound enough mind to vote for people who will preserve senior rights and benefits (like social security, medicare/medicaid, and so on).

Those who are trying to disenfranchise the entire demographic because of the abuse of a few, are WRONG.
