how about we start admitting a certain segment of the population is just riddled with criminals.
"Liberals"?
black people
I’m black. Yes, it is black people. Folks can debate the structural causes going back to slavery and the history of oppression in this country, but a more productive use of time is debating how to fix it. Black culture is riddled with problems and we are at a point in America where it is frankly out of control. I’m used to being called an Uncle Tom for being open about this, so have at it.
Also black and agree, but I wouldn't say its "black culture" but moreso the culture of lower class folks in our race. I rarely if ever see those who come from stable, middle and upper class families/backgrounds or immigrants do this. I blame this culture of wanting to be a perpetual victim, drill music, ghetto culture and a lack of positive role models as the reasoning. People who want to slap and tar all black folks aren't coming to this with good intentions just like those who see us as victims and oppressed. Ohh and no, before the white people comment, I'm as blue as anyone here. This isn't a left-right-center issue.
No disagreements from me at all. It is absolutely a a matter of intentions. To your point, we’re well off, live in a predominantly white area but with a few other notable well off black friends both in our neighborhood and other places in upper north west. All of our families have a nuclear family with a successful father (and mother) and our kids have role models, and do just as well as their white classmates. I grew up in a black neighborhood but it wasn’t the ghetto and we had black doctors, lawyers, dentists, etc, so growing up I saw examples of what I could be if I focused on my grades, athletics, and just being a productive person. I think the kids growing up today in SE and similar places don’t have that — instead they have rappers who glorify drugs dealing and the like. When I was growing up we did have hip hop music, but that stuff was a far cry from what it is today and we also had jazz, R&B, and other black genres that were more focused on love songs and other topics rather than glorifying absolute degeneracy. It’s a complex issue and I don’t know how I can fix it other than continuing to lead by example.
