If the state is going to kill someone, the certainty that this is indeed the right thing to do should be unanimous. As it is, the death penalty is not applied uniformly — something that should trouble even those who support the death penalty. Florida has also had quite a few people on death row exonerated. I’m not clear how many of these were pre-2017. [/quote]
