That was the least of it. Queen Ho was stalking Diana from well before her wedding. This is the year of her engagement. I can't imagine being 19, newly married and pregnant on top of it, then as a I slowly age into 24/25 realizing that the woman you thought was just being friendly and showing you 'the ropes' actually was your husband's decade-long mistress, everyone knew about it, maybe the entire ton was snickering behind the teen girl's back, and then when you confront your husband - he not only tells you to f off but also makes it clear Camilla is here to stay and you will be attending dinner parties at her home to keep it from 'looking weird'.

The nerve of that manipulative POS and his homewrecking piece of trash.

Diana found out about Camilla shortly before the wedding. She was shattered. She went to her family to ask their support and advice on how to proceed. Remember, she was a 19 year old girl, worked with preschoolers, probably very naive. Her family pushed her to go through with the wedding, maybe bullied her a bit. They were very high born (remember, tradition has really worn thin but at that time these things still mattered), but marrying the future king of England would still provide cachet to the family. She was probably trusting her family to not lead her wrong, plus she was confused, etc.  She did write an autobiography, where she describes how she found out about Camilla, her feelings, why she didn't break off the engagement. In the book she states Camilla was very harsh with her.
