They admit that the bridge was poorly maintained and in such a poor state that it should've been replaced. One traffic accident should not cause a structure like that to fall down. It's a foreseeable event that the bridge should be designed to withstand with some tolerance.

Literally in the quote you posted it said they had assessed the bridge in 2019 and replacing it is a multiyear process. What exactly do you think they should have done? Sped up time? Sorry they didn't replace it fast enough for your liking when we had a global pandemic happening, and sorry for your lack of reading comprehension.[/quote]
Uh dude, and I’m sure you’re a dude, they could have actually maintained it and not waited for it to deteriorate to the state that it had to be replaced. That’s the sort of stuff you kind of expect from a government.[/quote]
