Totally!  It is not the exact same as it's always been.  And anyone who thinks that is crazy. And do not get me started on Virginia schools and waitlists.  Girls and engineering students were at a disadvantage this year.  All the kids from my DD's high school going to Virginia Tech are not engineering students.  And all of the kids going to William and Mary are boys with lower GPA's than the girls.  It's just ridiculous.  Don't look at the name or the major and admit them on stats.  I'm sorry, but [b]unless Virginia Tech is a direct admit program to Engineering, do not discount students who have worked so hard because they checked the engineering box.  [/b]It doesn't mean that's where they will stay. They could change their minds.  There should be a second option like a few years ago.  Ridiculous.

No it's not. You are not automatically in the Engineering field.  You have to achieve a certain GPA to declare your Engineering major.  I should know, I went there!  Many people drop out prior to this because it's tough.[/quote]
