I'm not sure I'd say too big, but do have the growing pains of expanding quickly.  For the most part, I think the coaches at the club are good coaches, and bond well with the kids.  Some better than others which is the case at any club.  I think the issue becomes one of organization and communication.  Decisions, direction, and communication are very reactionary here still, as opposed to planned out, or at least they appear to be, and then the results they achieve with those decisions indicate that as well.  My suggestion would be attend and see what you think, how you like the coach, ask current parents at tryouts about the coach.  There hasn't been a lot of "club wide" training this season so your coach will dictate what and how you work on things.  We used to do a day of broader club-wide technical training, but shut it down a few weeks into fall due to COVID and cross team training concerns.  No communication if that's coming back or not, hence the reactionary/communication comment.   The organization stuff will work itself through though, and hopefully the comms get better when it does.  Yes, some groups seem bigger in terms of tryouts, but I have the impression that's the case at a number of clubs in the area.  Lots of kids checking out lots of clubs after a year when no one considered changes, so we'll all see when the dust settles which clubs added teams in which ages.[/quote]
