This thread is about ASIANS. The OP is pondering whether her child should hide her identity in this country because her identity, her race, her ancestry is discriminated against due to systemic racism. We are ALLOWED to talk about all the different factors that are involved with that system racism and how there are MANY facets that play into racism against Asians and, in particular to this thread, Asian children. If Black people are uncomfortable with all these various facets, some of which include them, then they need to learn, grow, educate themselves and sit in their own discomfort. Becoming an anti-racist is not an easy process.
Have you read the thread? of course Asians should talk about Asian issues but spouting untrue facts about Blacks to build your case is not the way to do that... Some Asian posters were flame throwing. The actual facts from Harvard documents are now in the thread. Complain about the 62 point disparity in average scores all you like but the previously posted 140 point disparity was a lie. If Asian people want to use "various facets" they should use correct information, and then they need to learn, grow , educate themselves and sit in their own discomfort. It is racist to use fake information about one race to magnify Asian abilities or scores.
If what you say is true of course that is wrong. Perhaps there is a misunderstanding. According to the Harvard Crimson over a 18 year period Asian American admits averaged 767 out of 800 (since the SAT is out of 1600 that would be 1534 out of 1600). African American admits averaged 704 out of 800 which would be 1408 out of 1600. This is a difference of 126 points. Just for some perspective a score of 1400 is around the 85th percentile for Asian American test takers. It goes without saying that there are no racial differences in intelligence and There are many structural reasons for this wide gulf but these are the facts Having said that SAT scores do indicate a student’s readiness for college level work and at a top 20 school the bar for readiness should be incredibly high https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2018/10/22/asian-american-admit-sat-scores/
