They have a vested interest in “not getting it” because to get it means you have to accept that you have benefited from the subjugation of other people and work to dismantle systems that benefit you as a White person. Most White people aren’t willing to see that because they don’t want to give up the privilege they have or admit how much of their life is a function of that privilege. [/quote]
