[/quote] I totally agree with you - but it’s highly possible that getting his full retirement benefits will make the difference between a reasonably comfortable life and many years of great need for both the dad and his wife. It doesn’t sound like the two additional years of work are about luxuries. They will impact everything from income to healthcare for the father and his wife for the rest of their lives.
