Baltimore Armour is proud to announce they will be participating in the Girls Development Academy beginning in the 2019-2020 season. The Baltimore Armour brand was created in 2015 with John Ellinger at the helm and quickly became the top choice for male players in Maryland. Comprised of leadership and resources from SAC & Pipeline, Baltimore Armour’s sole objective was to build a world-class training environment. Pipeline and SAC will continue to operate on the club level while providing this tremendous resource for its players. Baltimore Armour Girls will be run and operated by it’s existing Board of Governance (Pipeline Soccer Club: Sean Rush (Baltimore Armour Girls Director of Operations) & Santino Quaranta (Baltimore Armour Girls Academy Director), SAC: Craig Blackburn (Executive Director) & John Ellinger (Baltimore Armour Boys Academy Director). Each year the club has grown creating a clear pathway of success both for individual players, and collective teams. “We have worked very hard to create an environment that is unmatched on the boys side, and fully expect to duplicate this for our girls” said Santino Quaranta. “The academy system and training environment is for players driven both on and off the field.” We are thrilled with the opportunity to provide these young women youth national team exposure and college pathways” added Quaranta. Pipeline & SAC will continue to prosper and compete in the National League, EDP, State Cups, and top national events. “The leadership at both SAC and Pipeline are very confident this coordinated effort will allow players and coaches from both clubs to grow at all levels” added Sean Rush. “It’s a great honor for Baltimore Armour to be given the opportunity to run the US Soccer Girl’s Developmental Academy in the State of Maryland. The partnership of Pipeline SC and Soccer Association of Columbia (SAC) has produced outstanding results on the boy’s side and now gets the opportunity to produce similar results on the girl’s side” said John Ellinger.

Following a comprehensive review of elite player development in the United States and around the world, U.S. Soccer created the Development Academy in 2007. The Academy Program’s philosophy is based on increased training, less total games, and more meaningful games using international rules of competition. The Academy expanded programming to include a Girls Development Academy in the Fall of 2017. The Academy has 197 total clubs between the boys and girls. The Academy Program focuses on positively impacting everyday club environments to assist in maximizing youth player development across the country. The Academy values individual development of elite players over winning trophies and titles. The Academy sets the standard for elite environments for youth soccer clubs nationwide and is a part of U.S. Soccer’s global leadership position in youth soccer that will impact thousands of players.

I find it interesting this announcement omits Spirit completely.  Is it a transfer or are they starting their teams from scratch?[/quote]
