Are you people completely unconnected from the world? Do you not use twitter or instagram? #boymom is a thing. Is this the 50s forum???
+100. I am a mom to girls, but I know exactly what this is and have heard it plenty. What's with all the people who are totally clueless??
It's not cluelessness. I have a boy, many of my friends have boys, all of us are on social media, and I've literally never seen a reference to this on FB, Twitter, or Instagram from people I know. And no one has ever mentioned it to me IRL (like during an actual conversation). It seems really weird to me. Not a thing where I am or in my social circles, I guess.
I have boys and a girl and I don't really see it either. Maybe it's an education/SES-related thing.
I have both and I've seen it around me. Parents with grad degrees and UMC. I get why people use it. Obviously it's rooted in stereotypes but for those families, those stereotypes must be somewhat applicable. But the same can be said for #girlmoms or #momsofboth- we all deal with dynamics that are unique to same sex or opposite sex siblings.
