How exactly is "emotional health" defined?
By doctors. Not by you.
It’s a medical decision between a woman and her doctor. END OF STORY.
Just show him the money, and you're good to go!
Who's making stuff up?
It sounds more and more like a BUSINESS decision for the abortion doctors. What doctor says no to a "procedure" the pays BIG bucks? Abortion doctors ain't going it for free. Believe me.
You are right - 3rd trimester abortions cost the big bucks - typically 5-15K+. They take several days and typically include going out of state and missing work. It’s not done on a whim. Any pregnant women who can afford that sum of money and is just getting an abortion because they don’t want the baby is generally able to get an abortion at a much earlier (and cheaper) stage. Generally anyone who is willing to pay $10K + is in a pretty desperate situation - mostly severe maternal depression/psychosis or non-viability or serious anomaly of the baby or life-threatening complications of pregnancy. Why so much? 50% of clinic costs often go toward security - security staff, bulletproof glass and the clinic building itself. An extended family member (very pro-life) sought an 8th month abortion when that baby turned out to be anencephalic - no higher brain developed, only a brainstem. The baby could have been born and lived as much as several years. Parents chose termination and went on to have 4 other healthy children. I personally cannot imagine if the state had prohibited their choice.
