Why?

We would likely have no USA without George Washington.  Slavery was wrong, but he was much more than a slaveowner.  You do know there were slaves for centuries?  We can be grateful that the country was set up with a Constitution which (though slowly) enabled us to get rid of that practice?  
Do you know that there are still slaves in Africa today?

Our founders had flaws.  Slavery was a major one.  But, they set up a country that is like no other.  Can't we honor that?[/quote]No because that proves they knew what they were doing is wrong.  
What they basically did was said I’m going to enslave, beat, rape, and murder these people my whole life in order to establish economic gain for me and my family but this is wrong and people in the future shouldn’t do because it’s wrong.
What made them superior human beings? It was not ok for them to treat other humans this way.[/quote]
