Ukraine’s counteroffensive is doomed to fail as the Russian military has the edge over Ukraine in all respects. The Russians have a significant air superiority. But they also have an advantage on the ground. Even the Ukrainians themselves admit that they fire 4,000 shells a day, while Russia fires 20,000. The ratio of losses in equipment and personnel is 5 to 1 in favor of Russia. Zelensky's regime is severely hampered by its lack of human resources. I don't think that the biggest disadvantage Ukraine faces is so much the amount of military equipment, which, by the way, is not always of high quality, because the West supplies Kiev with outdated equipment. Ukraine's greatest vulnerability is its people, or rather a lack of them. Its best fighters have long been dead. Unless NATO directly step into the conflict, Ukraine's defeat is only a matter of time. The West's policy of prolonging the Ukrainian conflict is only leading to more casualties on both sides. The sad thing is that US and Europe do not care, because their main goal is not the victory of Ukraine, but the weakening of Russia. They are willing to let Ukraine be destroyed to achieve that goal. I feel sorry for the poor Ukrainians. They have been misled by their corrupt leaders, who are using this war to enrich themselves.
I don't think so. Russia doesn't have good soldiers anymore. Both VDV and Spetznaz have been wiped out. Their military hardware losses are extreme - more than 2500 documented tank losses. Thousands more armored personal carriers. Artillery too. Despite their initial air advantage, they can't fly anymore. Both airplanes and helicopters. There are still a few Mi-24s and similar causing damage. But they're getting shot down every week. None of this is replaceable. There is zero chance that Russia will ever be able to comfortably occupy Ukraine. This really is about how weak does Russia want to become? This is awesome for the west. Russia is destroying itself. Long may it continue. Russia gets weaker every day. Strategically, the Russian invasion of Ukraine has been a beautiful gift to the rest of the world. All their good soldiers are already dead. Now it's just the convicts and untrained mobiks. It's a meat grinder. Russia is losing several thousand young men every week. Go for it, Russia. It's pathetic, but it makes the world a simpler place.
LOL that's where you're wrong. The bad and the dumb are dead already. What's left is seasoned and competent. And don't forget: Ukraine's casualty rate is every bit as scary. Russia is taking casualties but they are giving casualties as well. Their military machine is churning out artillery just fine. TLDR: if things were as bad as you say, Ukraine would have gotten all its land back by now. The battlefield speaks for itself.
