Are there still 3.9 million people that watch CBS News? I'd imagine every single one of those viewers is old enough to remember Walter Cronkite. And CBS is going to lose all of them if they want to swim in the sea of hot takes and viral content. There's this thing called the internet. CBS is not competing in that cesspool. The cable news demographic are a lot older vs the network evening news. The younger you are the less likely you are to watch cable or network news. The funny thing is 3.9 is double what Fox news gets and Fox news gets all the viewers. So the market share for Fox News type of programming is actually pretty small and presents problems for advertisers.[/quote]
