What if the Dems nominated a ticket with one man and one woman and they were both SUPER hot? Like really really hot
This sounds at least partly sarcastic and silly - but unfortunately it is part serious too. The fixation on superficial is why Dems keep losing. You may not like Trump but at least he had a real plan and he is doing what he promised.
And it’s all been so fast…He got in there and executed on the plan (sadly).
Trump has the cult of personality. Don’t ever kid yourself that it’s about his policies. More and more, if he’s not on the ballot, his policies don’t win races.
you're free to think that, but I see it as exactly the opposite. Trump's policies (enforcing the border, for example) are supported by a healthy majority of Americans, but Trump's personality and the attacks on him, and his unforced errors are what kept the 2024 election, and the general political climate in our country, close to 50/50. If somebody younger, more likeable, and less controversial than Trump ran on the same policies, and the Democrats had a candidate like Ilhan Omar, Kamala Harris, Jasmine Crockett running on hard left policies like trans bathrooms, defunding the police, slavery reparations, DEI, open borders, Somali fraud, etc., the Republican would win in a landslide.
Let’s see: Trans bathrooms - not a national issue. Maybe a local issue in a few specific areas. Defunding police - never in the Democratic platform Slavery Reparations - never in the Democratic platform Somali fraud - not a “policy”, Democrats on record as needing to prosecute where it’s occurred So… as is typical of Republicans, the majority of your points are lies and distortions taken from Fox News, rather than representations of what Democrats actually stand for.
a few years ago you would be right, but the Democrat base has moved so far left that it will be hard for a Democrat Presidential Candidate in 2028 to brush aside those 80/20 issues as easily as you do. plus, you forgot to mention open borders and DEI, which will likely be a big part of the platform and are also losing issues for Dems.
You couldn't be more wrong. You're hooked on narratives that the GOP were able to successfully use to pin down the Dems while Biden was POTUS because Biden was an extremely weak leader lacking the ability to communicate to the American people to set the record straight when stupid talking points are circling. These talking points won't be effective when the Dems have a normal leader and they'll find that person in 2028. In the meantime, elections will be a referendum on Trump through 2028 which means a repeat of 2018 and 2020. Been here. Done this. Presumably your memory doesn't go back that far.
