Philly Union could literally lose ALL of their games and as long as they are producing pros at the rate they are it wouldn't matter. DCU isnt producing pros AND losing the games. .So it is bad at what it does as an academy all around.
DCU Academy produced a Professional Player in the Premier League currently, unless we're all mistaken There are also DCU products in other European leagues How many MLS academies have players at Premier League clubs currently? Has Philly Union placed more academy products in European top divisions than FC Dallas. No
DC United Academy does NOT have a player "in the Premier League." Red Bull Academy has Tyler Adams at Bournemouth. Philly Union has Brendan Aronson at Leeds. DCUA sold a player into Bournemouth's system who plays with their developmental Squad. Players on the Washington Go Go are not in the NBA just because the wizards can call them up.
Then why is a DC United Academy player in the picture with Tyler Adams on their website for the Senior Team?
I would think that to consider someone "in the Premier League." They would have to make appearances IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE. Or at least be on the bench of a team in the Premier League.
The AFC Bournemouth website has a Development team and a Senior team The DCU Academy player is not under the Development team The DCU Academy player is under the SENIOR MEN'S Team But we'll let the anti-dc biased Hater tell us what's the truth
You win again Mr. Attorney. Your arguments are superb. Does he have an interview like GY which highlights how integral DCU was to his development? I would love to read it and absorb the knowledge.
So the person you call an attorney caught you lying and you're trying to use cynicism and sarcasm to pivot? btw... he made Nine (9) bench appearances for the Senior Men's Team in the Premier League last season Very few 18 year olds are going to play Center Back in the best league in the world When you're putting him down because you hate your loser self so much, ask how many Center Backs in all of Europe at any age can't make it to where he is today
So what? This doesn't have anything to do with DCU really. He is one outlier from the academy and it is known that DCU failed him. The deal from Bournemouth was secured by his agent and the family connections and he was desperate to get out of DCU. I would absolutely not call it a success story from the academy considering DCU had him riding the bench for the majority of the time he was on DCUs first team and he was never getting minutes. They were killing his career and he had to get out. In fact, if he was premier league ready, which he clearly is and was not, and he was riding the bench at DCU then that just shows DCU is the dumbest MLS team on earth with a premier league center back riding their bench while being one of the worst teams in the league. Brilliant! But everyone knew he wasn't ready even for the MLS and regular MLS minutes. Not on footballing skills alone. On physical potential, yes. And this is what Bournemouth bought. The physical potential. Professional academies in the premier league have to be accountable to the first team and they have to produce players for the roster of the first team, that is their job. So you will see some academy players on the rosters for game days but getting no minutes. If you really follow the path of pros from DCU overseas you will see quickly that the narrative on them is that they come to Europe unprepared technically and tactically. They usually have some physical attribute that gets them the opportunity, like the kid at Bournemouth. But once they get a long look at their actual footballing skills up against strong competition week in and week out the picture becomes clear about what kind of player they have. An undeveloped, raw player with physical upside and technical deficiencies that will need a lot of time to get to the level. This is where the kid at Bournemouth is at.. Paredes was the same at Wolfsburg and it took him two years to make an impact.. You don't go from riding the bench on DCUs first team in the MLS which is a subpar league overall to playing in the premier league (which is the best league in the world) the next season. Just doesn't happen.
