Do you think her relatives are supportive? I thought it interesting in her interview she only mentions Vance’s mom - and she was the only grandparent at the inauguration. I wonder if her mother and aunties are proud or embarrassed - especially working in universities.

I think it’s also notable that most of the female lawyers I know now, as well as back in law school were quite well dressed. Not necessarily fashion plates, but well put together and knew how to dress for the occasion, so I find it odd that she keeps leaning into this “lack of fashion”. Well that and the two pics I have seen of her mom, she is very polished.

I feel like some conservative women made that dig too last year; that Usha’s mom basically does all the kid work and JD treats her poorly. Again, who knows?

As for whether her mom is polished, who knows, Usha’s firm picture is polished too.

But I’ve been a lawyer in DC for 25 years and agree that many women lawyers are “ put together and knew how to dress for the occasion.”  But the window of appropriate is narrow and plain. [/quote]
