All these types of schools, BC, Tulane, Emory, Miami, GWU provide a great education. Many spend $20k or $30k a year on Catholic schools, so paying for a private school for a large percentage of people is part of the privilege of having money.
Emory-24 BC-36 Tufts-37 GWU- 59 Umiami-64 Tulane-69 You're trying to piss off Emorymom.
Succesfully? š
Doubt it, but Every Tufts parent think its a peer with Emory. They hate to be reminded Tufts is only T40.
Huh. My kid picked Tufts over Emory and UVA. You people have lost your minds. Only T40? Do you know many colleges there are in this country? And yet you draw these ridiculous distinctions based on how a corporation tells you these schools are ranked. These are all amazing schools. Just help your kids find one that your family can afford where they can thrive.
+1 So much insecurity in these threads. All fantastic schools.
+1 I told my kid at the beginning of the application process that there are unhappy, struggling people at every college and there are happy, successful people at every college. This isnāt a ācopeā phrase- many of us on this forum attended top schools and I think all of us know from personal experience or our peersā experiences that a degree from an elite college isnāt an automatic golden ticket to success and happiness. Thereās a lot more to it. Some of the most fulfilled successful people I know attended lower ranked, lesser-known regional southern and midwestern colleges that are often ridiculed or ignored on this board.
I think the craziness of the college admission process is also a symptom of something bigger; the UMC knows that their kids will have to work twice as hard to even maintain the same standard of living. A lot of people believe a T20 education helps. Iām more of a pessimist given the current state of affairs (this administration, Project 2025, climate change, techno bros wanting to reshape the world).
