I can't from far away, but I can from a few feet away.  Maybe some people have more sensitive noses than others.  I can also smell the outside on people -- geosmin -- but no one else in my family can.

Everyone can’t smell this? That outside smell. Ahh I didn’t know that. I have a nose like a truffle pig and it does gross me out a lot. I can smell when someone is on their period and wearing a pad.

Uhh, some people (including myself) absolutely can smell it when someone is wearing a maxi pad.  I can also smell the odor of hair oil.  My kids are going through puberty and the hair smell is especially potent.  I have a very strong sense of smell.  Can't wear anything with perfume and get migraines from strong odors.  I notice odors all the time at work and people think I'm crazy because they can't smell what I smell.  [/quote]

I'm not that PP but dried blood definitely has an odor. Dogs can certainly smell it ever notice how they go straight for the crotch? It's not too unbelievable that someone with a very keen sense of smell might pick up on it.[/quote]
It is extremely unbelievable. I do believe that dogs go for crotches because there are interesting smells (pee, feces, sex, blood) for them. However, their sense of smell is 1000 times keener than any human’s. Are you suggesting you can smell as well as dogs? If so, you should join search and rescue; maybe you can help find lost people if they are on their period. [/quote]

A beagle can smell the presence of a mouse in an acre cornfield.  Like them, DCUM Period Bloodhounds can smell a period from the other end of the room, it seems totally believable to me.[/quote]
That's what kills me is we were all being extremely charitable and being like, "You can't smell a maxi pad unless it's days old." But PP never said she could smell maxi pads. She literally said she could smell when someone was on their period. Like that cat that can sniff out who will get Parkinson's. Effing psychotic. [/quote]
