This post is infuriating. It was widely reported that there wouldn’t be adults in the room, that Trump would only appoint loyalists. No “adults” would have supported his running again or agreed to serve in his second administration. Many, many people sounded the alarm that the Republicans were removing the guardrails of democracy that protected us during his first term. This was no secret!!! Where were you?! When he said completely batsh!t crazy nonsense and couldn’t explain any policies or positions on the campaign trail, what made you think we’d be okay under his tenure? You either weren’t paying attention or you were just in denial.[/quote]

Sure wish we had nominated someone with legitimate two term POTUS acumen back in 2020 so that a Trump second term was never possible. Prioritizing control over things within your control is always the best plan of action.[/quote]

We have zero control over idiot Republicans. Whining about Trump's awfulness gets us nowhere. Making it impossible for awful people to become president is something we can control by making sure there is adequate opposition. [/quote]
How, pray tell, were Democrats supposed to make it impossible for awful people to become president? We impeached Trump twice. We held detailed trials in the Senate. We had an exhaustive investigation with public hearings into January 6th. We attempted to prosecute him for his involvement in January 6th and for refusing to turn over classified documents to the lawful authorities. We’ve fought him in court every step of the way. We forced Biden out of the race in a Hail Mary. Our failure to stop Trump wasn’t for lack of trying.

Democrats engaging in a circular firing squad is no more effective than whining about Trump’s awfulness, so let’s stop blaming people who tried to stop Trump and sounded the alarm bells and were ignored by a lot of idiots who just assumed everything would work out, despite a mountain of evidence to the contrary.[/quote]
