It is hard to see what exactly happened with the students' faces blurred. I would imagine the police that arrested Winter were able to see more, given the charging documents state that the action caused "them to immediately start weeping".

What we know is that the criminal case against Winter was thrown out. I don't see any information about the mother seeking to sue him or MCPS, although it's possible that was her intention after the criminal case. That being said, it is incredibly unfair and disgusting to accuse her of seeking a payout when she hasn't even filed a civil suit as far as we know. There's no indication she was present when the other students reported the incident to their teacher. This whole situation was not driven by the mother. And as a mother I can't imagine pressing criminal charges against a staff member and the hassle and stress of that if I didn't genuinely believe this guy is a danger to my child and other children.[/quote]
