People here are insane to support non citizens voting. That is the intent, to allow only citizens the opportunity to vote in an election. I don’t care about systematic or non systematic deleting of names. If you respond to request to prove citizenship when you currently are not eligible, you are changed. If you don’t, you are removed. How is this at all controversial????? Allowing people WITHOUT documentation is where fraud is ripe to occur-on either side!!! I don’t care anything about if this is Republican or Democrat. This is literally common sense.
No common sense says you don’t purge people from the voter list just because they share a first and last name with someone else but not an address or social security number. And 14 days to write back is nothing considering the way the mail works these days. I was out of town for 14 days in September— even assuming I got all my mail (which is a huge if IME) why should I be purged just because I was gone a couple of weeks. Hell my credit cards give me a longer grace period and it’s not like anyone ever accused them of being too lax with people.
