I don’t live in CP but am subscribed to the listserv digest. I just read all of the posts on the tweet, the apologies, and the responses. The commissioners and commissioners-elect did a very stupid thing that will probably lead to several recall petitions. It’s shocking that not one of these people considered that posting the photo to social media might be a bad idea and no one should be more angry at them for that than those who support their work. there is only one person who actually posted the image to social media. Only 2 of the 5 in the image "gave the bird".

none of it was acceptable

that said, understand the message that the people who oppose the bike lanes are sending...that their way of life and mode of transportation is more important than anyone else's, and that the people who want to bike safely to places don't have the right to do so, that their lives and safety is simply not important or worthy. So by their words and actions, the people who oppose the bike lanes are de facto giving everyone else the proverbial finger. Look in the mirror and understand why people might be upset about that[/quote]
