School year is starting up soon so I thought I would drop my rankings for this spring. 1. Bullis- very solid 2023 class and an elite 2025 class. My favorite for the IAC champs. 2. Sjc- lost a lot with their 2022 class leaving but still have the best goalie fogo and attackmen in the area. My favorite for the wcac champs. Not a lot of competition in the wcac. 3. Landon- elite 2024 class. Overall a very good team. 4. Prep- so much talent across the board. Will the infamous madlax dc dogs be able to put it together this year? 5. STA- they have really made a name for themselves with an elite 2023 class. Dark horse for the IAC this year. 6. Dematha- very good 2023 and 2024 class and seem to have put themselves in a good spot. 7. Gonzaga- could be a dark horse for the wcac. Their 2024 class will have to carry the team with a weak 2023 class. 8- Pvi- they have lost a lot of depth and key players. They have a solid 2023 class and have a chance to make some noise. 9- SSSAS- lost almost their whole team and all of their talent and have the weakest senior class behind Gonzaga. Don’t really have any expectations for them. 10- EHS- have one good player going to uva. That’s about it.
This is ridiculous. #1 St. John's is the defending champion and #1 until someone in the area actually beats them. Period. #2 Agree Bullis is probably next but their depth is questionable, as they got manhandled in Geico. #3 Prep is what they always are - great on paper, but just missing something. This year will be no different. #4 GZ is next but there is a serious drop off after #3. Their defense will be good, but not great. Their offense will be virtually invisible this season. #5 Dematha will surprise a lot of people with this being Mitchell's 2nd year. #6 - St Alban's will be a lot like GZ. Great D but no O. #7 - #10 - Toss-up between EHS, SSSAS, PVI and Landon. SSSAS probably has the edge with their coaching and their off-season recruiting especially on offense. EHS is one dimensional even counting their UVA commit. Landon and PVI have athletes but no coaching. Agree it will be a step down from last year across the board, but also plenty of time for one or more of these teams to step up and challenge for one of the 4 IAC-WCAC play-off spots. Bull
