My money is on the living son. Dad would WANT to out whoever killed his family and bring them to justice, unless it was his only remaining family member.

Dead son kills living son’s boyfriend. Living son gets revenge by shooting dead son, mom intervenes and gets shot too.

Dad wants to protect his only child left. Hit attempt could have been a way to get insurance money so that living son could afford legal fees, or even to flee the country. [/quote]

I don't think its the living son. He likes him. He'd be living just so he could go to court to defend him. Aside from that the lawyer said the LEOs already know who that person is and are on the case. So he's/they are expecting imminent arrests.

I think he just favored the one son and wanted to give him a windfall so that he'd be set for life. [/quote]
