When does US Soccer DA update their site with all of the team changes this summer?
I was wondering about this too.
Is Metro United actually happening? Are they not releasing information because they don’t have it?
https://metroutd.org/faq
This website looks like a teenager put it together. Provides basic information but nothing else.
In their defense, all of this changeover happened very quickly and was approved by US Soccer in Denver like 2 weeks ago. In that same time, they've had to hold ID sessions, negotiate fields, hire coaches, oh, and continue to coach this year's WS teams. SO, are we really so hoping for failure that now we're going to bash the website?
This statement is what bothers me. Why would US soccer approve this? Why are they agreeing to have an inferior product put out onto the field when this whole area is saturated by too many DA/ECNL teams. US Soccer moans about pay to play but with so many DA's that converted to ECNL is this not their own money grab. I appreciate a positive environment and coaches that truly want to see the kids succeed, but this is why we have levels of soccer. There are too many programs for anyone to be truly successful which is why the local DA/ECNL clubs are getting destroyed when they play teams in other areas that truly have the elite girls playing and not every kid around this area simply because Mom and Dad can pay and feel their daughters are entitled to this level of play. So while everyone is bitching about the clubs it is really US Soccer that is taking the most advantage as they are supposed to be doing the best thing for the kids. Sure doesn't seem like it. The younger age groups specifically the 06 and 07 are going to pay the price.
And let's not forget our rich friends running the ECNL. They are doing quite well with all of this. They have lowered the bar and allowed teams that 4 years ago would never have been accepted in. They are giving 2 ECNL teams to some clubs on top of that. However, regardless of the corruption at the top of the food chain and the "scouts" that are really only scouting wherever they work or their kids play, I think MU is offering something different. If you meet the coaches doing this, you will see why I think that. I can't explain US Soccer or ECNL and why they can't both play well together in the sandbox, but I don't really care ultimately. What I care about is my child, and my child will get a better environment at MU. That's what truly matters.
Everyone thinks there experience is different and the best.
That's fine. Let us enjoy ours and you enjoy yours. All I'm saying is stop judging something you haven't seen up close to evaluate.
