I agree with this, but I think the people getting defensive about the lack of "happy" pictures are upset because it disturbs as much of a fantasy as the ones who think the lack of happy pictures is some sort of relationship commentary.

The fact is we don't and can't know much of anything. We don't know they are happy. We don't know they are unhappy. We don't know if Kate is a good mother or a bad mother. We don't know if Will is a good or bad father. All we have are images, and then carefully planted rumors to manage image. If you think that the images they project are not carefully cultivated, you are naive [/quote]
