The reason I get a slight pang of sadness whenever I see photos of the Cambridges supposedly showing PDA, is because it is painfully obvious Kate is trying so hard to touch him, connect with him/do her part to project the happycouple bit while William doesn't seem to care at all.

Look at the above pictures. The two most arguably "in love" pictures of these two in existence.

Kate is leaning forward, she is putting her hand on his knee. His hands are clasped together and shut and he looks bored and bothered by her touching.

In the second she has an ecstatic look on her face while he is loosely holding her around the waist with a fading smile.
