Definitely the best episode of the season and renewed my faith and interest in this show again. I love how they mirrored Kevin's addiction with William's addiction. I love how they're portraying addiction in this country (Jack, William, and now Kevin). Similarly, like how they mirrored the judge/courthouse/jail scenarios between Deja's mom, William, and the Pearsons trying to adopt Randall. Just nice overall symmetry in this episode. How is no one noticing Kevin's issues? I hope someone picks up on it soon. He looks like a hot mess in every scene now.
That brief scene when the two judges were chatting in the lounge, unaware that they were both having an impact on Randall and his families at the same moment in time, gave me shivers. I think those arcs of coincidence may happen more in life than we realize.
Every time I get a little fed up with this show, it keeps reeling me back in, mainly due to scenes like that. It's always the unexpected coincidence that I'm never prepared for. Also, the judge's speech to young William. Wow. I still think Mandy Moore is doing fantastic with the role of Rebecca. She is such a believable actress! Agreed, I mean she is playing a mother opposite people her own age in half of the role and its pretty damn believable.

Agreed. Moore is actually nearly a decade younger than Brown and Hartley in real life, and 4 years younger than Metz. We like her in This is Us, but since our kids are of a certain age, Moore will always be Rapunzel to us!
