"Wealth" can be subjective.  A regular person would consider a neighborhood with million dollar houses a wealthy one (just checked Zillow and the houses in this neighborhood are worth $1-1.3M).[/quote]

I agree about the subjective nature and a million dollars isn't what it used to be..... and... at the time of the murders BB was newish agent that wasn't making a huge salary.  I'm sure CB was well compensated as a nurse.  However, I believe they were at the upper limit of their budget in that home.

In my area many of the agents live in one community.  The agents' homes don't tend to approach a million dollars.

Agree, except they had previously owned on Long Island, I believe. If so, that could have provided a significant down payment. But they were not wealthy people. I'm still curious about any life insurance policies on CB.

I’ve had Au pairs and most times, it does end up costing less than a nanny / daycare, but not always. (But the financial aspects are for a different thread).

The Au pair program is fundamentally different from a transactional nanny / daycare relationship. You are supposed to treat the Au pair like a daughter or a niece. You host them for holidays. You take them on vacation with you. You throw them a birthday party. They usually form a “big sister” bond with your kids.

That’s why it is so disturbing to me that BB had a sexual relationship with her. I know it happens, and I know they’re consenting adults, but it feels like incest!  I feel very sad for the little girl. I guarantee you CB was framing the Au pair as a “big sister” to the little girl. [b]How confusing when your big sister is also daddy’s girlfriend.[/b] [/quote]
