I am hearing that the current weather issues are making it impossible to hold the necessary in person meetings to come up with any creative solutions other than H. Feeling defeated.
Nice try. Poor trolling. We had virtual meetings (both public and internal administrative) during the pandemic. Any attempt to use the current weather as an excuse to ram through the highly unpopular Option H will be met with even more resistance than it has been to this point.
H isn't unpopular county-wide. There are just a few people who don't like it. Most people don't want to pay the extra taxes that would be necessary to keep Wootton as a segregated school.
Wootton, Magruder and Damascus are all against H. How is it popular? Only crown people think it’s popular. I don’t think MCPS can force three clusters to accept something they don’t want.
+1. Mr./Ms. Troll will now respond with “what’s your solution then?” We’ve given our solution, namely, maintain the status quo and use Crown’s excess capacity as a holding school. Wootton can be remediated while the permanent enrollment picture of Crown becomes clearer. There is money for this, as apparently MCPS’ desire is to use Wootton’s current building as a holding school. This means remediation is required regardless whether Wootton closes and moves to Crown.
You are the ones who started this. Talk to your advocates to back down. Remediation will happen but not on your schedule. The mold will always be there.
You sound a bit childish “but you started it!” Thats a sign of someone who refuses to take responsibility. As for backing down, everyone has a right to their individual opinion. Or do you refer to people as groups in order to assign collective guilt? That almost sounds r-ist. Tell you what, you start and tell MCPS to leave Wootton alone and force them to do it.
Why do I need to do that? Why aren’t you? Your school and your advocacy. Stop expecting others to fix the mess you created. It’s childish to tantrum online, create problems then demand others fix it. Your school, your responsibility.
You really are incredibly misinformed and frankly, you just seem really unintelligent. Wootton parents didn’t create any mess. The school is falling apart. You and I and everyone else pay taxes in MOCO for schools. Doesn’t matter if you have kids in school or not (and I suspect you don’t have kids at all and are just making idiotic comments because you are bored). MCPS has failed to provide maintenance in many schools. Until people keep pushing them to stop spending money on unimportant crap (like warehouses and boundary studies) stuff like this is just going to keep happening. They can’t just keep building new schools and then closing others. So no, we don’t own the school. It’s not our responsibility “to fix the mess”. We are taxpayers. It’s MCPS’s job and the county’s to fix the schools that need to be fixed and nobody else’s job. They need an audit and we all have a vested interest in finding out where all this money is going.
Taylor promised transparency and accountability…guess that’s another broken promise.
