It’s always funny to me how conservatives care so much more about optics than, say, human rights violations.  Megyn Kelly is clearly a very intelligent woman but seriously WTF is wrong with all of these people?

Also I am not on my laptop and I can’t seem to post this from my phone but the freaking DHS homepage has a glamor shot of Kristen Noem riding a horse very akin to the “Vladimir Putin shirtless riding a horse” photo.  It’s like there is a whole autocracy aesthetic now.

So, I am from ND and Burgum was always doing cowboy stuff in these ridiculous chaps. The thing is, he grew up in a small down in the extremely flat sugar beet and potato filed country of eastern ND (his family owned grain elevators and financed his software company investment, the company was ultimately acquired by Microsoft). Nobody has cattle. There's no brush to ride through, you ride you horse along the road shoulder. He did the chaps in campaign ads, only to be told by an ag publication he should lose the cowboy costume.
