I don’t understand why the sheriff was involved either. I assume it was at the request of the woman’s parents. Two sheriffs deputies were sent to DR to interview Riibe and investigate and they quickly cleared him and concluded it was accident/likely drowning. The sheriff publicly said this, and even sent a letter to the DA in the DR, and gave one to Riibe’s attorney who tried to present it in the hearing over the screaming objection of the DA who claimed it was unreliable and irrelevant because it was coming from the US.[/quote]
